Holistic Counselling opens and explores the mind, body and soul, when addressing a particular life issue. Using a variety of techniques, this approach to counselling allows the opportunity to see outside your everyday patterns of thinking so that new perspectives come through in regards to how you see  yourself and the world around you.
You will feel empowered as you discover new learnings and qualities about yourself that you were not consciously aware of.

SENIOR COUNSELLOR - Holly Uhlich

 

Holly Uhlich, has over 8 years experience as a qualified Social Worker & Holistic Therapist.
Holly has worked with a diverse range of clients, with often complex and multiple needs. She has also experienced her own personal battles, health issues & traumas along her own life journey. 
Holly has a BA in Social Work & Arts, training in Mindfulness based CBT, Nutrition, Hypnotherapy and Reiki healing (Master level).
Holly is also an International Yoga teacher (RYT 350), Meditation coach, Breathwork faciilitator and Dance teacher.

Coaching clients through their hardships is Holly's passion and purpose. She takes enormous pride in doing her best to support clients along their path, while working in a collaborative way to help gain a deeper awareness, understanding or resolution to what it is that they are currently experiencing. Holly believes that there is always a greater purpose to our pain...and we owe it to ourselves to honour & explore it so that we can grow and flourish.

 

WHAT DOES A SESSION INVOLVE?

Having a nurturing space to speak openly & bear witness to all aspects of self can lead to awakening, empowerment & personal growth, allowing us to find meaning, inspiration, purpose & a deeper connection, whilst unearthing the unlimited potential within each and every one of us.

Depending on the nature and purpose of the session, Holistic Counselling may include, but is not limited to the following tools and techniques :

 

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT is a form of psychotherapy that focusses on finding solutions. It aims to modify dysfunctional emotions, destructive behaviors, and thought processes. 
  • Empowerment Theory - This approach is about working in ways which empower people, so that clients feel confident, inclusive, supported and in complete control of their lives. Setting goals that are attainable and appropriate, teaching new skills, encouraging positive change & self belief. 
  • Writing –  journalling, or 're-writing' our story can help to release our limitations so that we can move towards peace, inspiration & wholeness.  
  • Inner Child re-connection -  It is important for all of us to take time to re-connect with the playful, impulsive, creative, innocent parts of ourselves that we sometimes neglect. Honouring our inner child can be profound, nurturing, healing, empowering, & life affirming.
  • Meditation & Mindfulness -  Through mindfulness practices, we can reduce:  chronic pain, cortisol levels in our bodies ( that keep us in 'fight or flight' mode) , decrease emotional reactivity, anxiety, depression & stress levels, increase creative thinking, resolve confilcts, improve digestion, and so much more.. Through the power of meditation, we can learn to better cope with the stresses of daily life & embark on a journey towards inner peace, clarity, resolve & wholeness.  
  • Yoga -In recent years, the medical community has increasingly become aware of the benefits of yoga on physical & psychological health. Yoga meaning 'union' is designed to create a deep connection between the mind, body & spirit. 
  • Breathwork - A healing and transformational tool. A bridge between the conscious and the unconscious, between the body, mind and spirit. It can enable you to tap into your deepest wisdom and it can heal on all levels.
  • Reiki - A Japanese healing technique for stress reduction, based on the idea that "life force energy" flows through us and is what keeps us alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, we are more likely to fall ill or feel stress. If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation, feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. 
  • Health & Nutrition - To maintain good health, it is crucial to eat nutritious foods, avoid toxicity, decrease stress & engage in appropriate physical activity. We must improve the body's inner function, whilst decreasing external environmental stressors in order to improve our overall wellbeing.

 

The road to healing takes patience, commitment and a willingness to do the internal work. There are no quick fixes. You need to be willing to delve deep, trust your journey & believe in yourself.

Counselling is available online, or in person (depending on location) 
The advantages of online sessions are:

  • It's perfect for those in rural or remote areas. Sometimes its helpful to talk to someone outside of your community - you can be assured that you will not run into your therapist outside of the office.
  • Online coaching makes sessions accessible to those who may be disabled, housebound, or prefer to be in the privacy of their own home. 
  • Consulatations are competitively priced and the hours are flexible to meet your needs.
